If you’re looking for a tropical escape with stunning beaches, good vibes, and a touch of adventure, Siargao is the best place to go. We had an amazing time exploring this beautiful island, known for its surfing spots, scenic views, and friendly locals. Here’s a breakdown of our trip, packed with plenty of activities and sights to see.
Arrival and Accommodation
We started our journey by checking into the Maverick Inn in Siargao. After a quick rest, we decided to explore the nearby restaurants and shops to get a feel for the area. It was fun wandering around, trying out local dishes, and seeing what Siargao had to offer. For those who enjoy a little nightlife, the island has a laid-back vibe with some good spots to relax and unwind in the evening.
Surfing and Sightseeing
Siargao is famous for surfing, so we couldn’t resist giving it a shot. Even if you’re a beginner, the island has spots suited for all skill levels. After some time on the waves, we spent the day checking out more local attractions and eateries. The island has plenty of interesting stores and cafes, each with a unique vibe. In the evening, we explored more of the island’s nightlife—optional, of course, but worth experiencing if you’re up for it.
Island Hopping Adventure in Siargao
One of the highlights of our trip was a full day of island hopping. Early in the morning, we were picked up and taken to explore several breathtaking spots: Naked Island, Guyam Island, Daku Island, Coral Garden, and the Secret Island. Each location was unique in its own way. Naked Island is a tiny sandbar with white sand surrounded by crystal-clear waters, while Daku Island was perfect for a beach picnic. Guyam Island was like a postcard with palm trees and blue waters. It was a day filled with sun, sand, and amazing views.
A Change of Scenery
After our island-hopping day, we switched up our accommodation and checked into Guyangan Home Stay. This was a nice change, giving us a cozy place to rest and get ready for our next adventures on the island.
Exploring the South Side of Siargao
For our next adventure, we took a South Land Tour, which included some of the most iconic spots in Siargao. First up was Maasin River, famous for its picturesque bent palm tree over the river where you can swing into the water. Then we visited Magpupungko with its stunning rock pools, which were perfect for a swim during low tide. We also went to Sugba Lagoon, a must-visit for anyone who loves a bit of adventure—there’s even a diving board! Our day also included a stop at Secret Beach, the scenic Coconut View Deck, and Cloud 9, which is Siargao’s famous surfing area.
Taking a Day to Rest
After so many activities, we took a day to relax and just go with the flow. Sometimes, it’s nice to have a day with no set plans, allowing us to recharge and enjoy the island’s peaceful atmosphere.
Touring the best places at the North Side of Siargao Island
Our next tour was the North Land Tour. This side of Siargao has its own charm, starting with Pacifico Beach, which is quieter but just as beautiful. We continued to spots like Trogons Perch, Pasicon Coastal Resort, Secret Mountain View, and Little Hawaii View. Each location offered something unique—whether it was amazing ocean views or lush greenery. We ended the day at Alegria Beach, a quiet spot perfect for relaxing, which gave us a refreshing experience after a day of exploring.
Wrapping Up with a Final Stay
As our trip neared its end, we checked into Nayanaya Villas (one of the best places to stay in the island, especially if you're working). We spent our last few days soaking in the island vibe, exploring nearby shops, and checking out more restaurants. For those interested, surfing was still an option, but we mostly took it easy, enjoying the last bits of our Siargao experience.
Departure
With our bags packed and plenty of memories, we headed back home with a refreshed spirit. Siargao Island, one of the best places/islands in the Philippines, had given us an experience full of adventure, relaxation, and incredible sights.
Whether you're an adventurer, a beach lover, or just someone looking for a peaceful getaway, Siargao has something special to offer. From island hopping and scenic views to good food and friendly locals, it’s an island that makes you feel at home while still giving you that tropical escape.
